Frequently Asked Questions

When is Annie playing in Woking in 2026?

Annie runs at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking from Monday 16 November to Saturday 21 November 2026, with performances across that week.

Which venue in Woking is hosting Annie?

The production is part of the 2026 UK and Ireland tour and will be staged at the New Victoria Theatre, a major South East venue known for large touring West End style musicals.

What performance times can I expect in Woking?

The schedule runs from 16 to 21 November 2026, with evening performances typically at 7:30 pm on Monday to Saturday.

There are also matinee performances on selected days, usually midweek and Saturday afternoons, giving options for both daytime and evening visits.

What is the plot of Annie?

Annie is set in 1930s New York during the Great Depression and follows a brave young orphan forced to live a life of misery and torment at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage.

Determined to find her real parents, her luck changes when she is chosen to spend a fairytale Christmas with billionaire Oliver Warbucks, while spiteful Miss Hannigan hatches a plan to spoil Annie’s search, all told through songs like It’s the Hard-Knock Life, Easy Street, I Don’t Need Anything But You, and Tomorrow.

Has Annie won any major awards?

Annie is a classic Broadway musical that has won seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, for its original 1977 production.

Its Tony Award winning book and score have helped make it one of the world’s best loved family shows, with frequent West End revivals and international tours.

Who is starring in Annie in Woking?

The Woking dates are part of the 2026 tour, and the official tour site states that casting for the role of Miss Hannigan will be announced closer to the run.

A full company of adult and child performers will bring Annie, Oliver Warbucks, Grace Farrell, the orphans, and the New York setting to life on the New Victoria Theatre stage.

Is Annie suitable for children and families?

Annie is promoted as the world’s favourite family musical, with listings highlighting its uplifting story, colourful staging, and memorable songs as ideal for all ages.

Most families find it especially suitable for school age children, as any tense or emotional moments are balanced by humour, big musical numbers, and a reassuringly happy ending.

How long does the Annie performance last in Woking?

The Annie musical typically runs for about two and a half hours including an interval, similar to other large scale musical theatre productions.

This running time allows the full story and all the key musical numbers to unfold at a comfortable pace, with a break halfway so audiences can rest and refresh.

How can I get cheap tickets for Annie in Woking?

Ticket prices at the New Victoria Theatre vary by performance and seat, with cheaper options usually found in upper levels or further from the stage.

To keep costs down, look at early week performances and matinees rather than peak Friday or Saturday evenings, compare different price bands, and watch for early booking offers or local promotions.

Are there tips for last minute cheaper tickets?

For last minute plans, check the theatre’s calendar close to the date, as returned tickets or extra seat releases sometimes appear and can be better value than early premium options.

If you are flexible about which performance you attend and where you sit, you have a better chance of finding discounted or late release tickets before the run ends.

Can I use ticket resale to save money for Annie in Woking?

Resale tickets can occasionally be cheaper, but only buy from reputable resale platforms or official partners that clearly show seat locations and use secure payment methods.

Avoid buying from unverified sellers or informal social media posts, as those tickets may not be valid and you could risk losing both your money and your chance to see the show.

Why is Annie a good choice for a Woking theatre trip?

Annie combines a moving rags to riches story with a Tony Award winning score, energetic choreography, and a large ensemble of adults and children, creating a lively, feel good atmosphere.

Its week-long run at the New Victoria Theatre from 16 to 21 November 2026, with a mix of evening and matinee performances, makes it an appealing option for an autumn theatre outing in Woking.
