National Theatre at Home adds Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Arcadia and more with free trial
National Theatre at Home has announced five new titles joining its streaming platform, alongside details of its first-ever seven-day free trial. The additions include acclaimed productions such as Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Arcadia and The Playboy of the Western World, available to stream in the coming months.
National Theatre at Home will expand its catalogue with five new productions scheduled for release between November and December. These include Les Liaisons Dangereuses on 3 November, Arcadia on 26 November, The Playboy of the Western World and Kinky Boots on 1 December, and A Child’s Christmas in Wales on 8 December.
Les Liaisons Dangereuses is Marianne Elliott’s new production of Christopher Hampton’s adaptation of Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’s classic story of seduction and betrayal. The version stars Lesley Manville and Aidan Turner and was recorded live at the Lyttelton Theatre.
Tom Stoppard’s Olivier Award-winning play Arcadia features Isis Hainsworth and Seamus Dillane in Carrie Cracknell’s production. This performance was captured live during its run at The Old Vic.
Also recorded live in the Lyttelton, The Playboy of the Western World stars Nicola Coughlan, Éanna Hardwicke and Siobhán McSweeney in Caitríona McLaughlin’s staging of John Millington Synge’s darkly comic exploration of youth and identity.
The musical Kinky Boots, with music by Cyndi Lauper and book by Harvey Fierstein, tells the story of factory owner Charlie Price and entertainer Lola who save a struggling shoe factory. The streaming version is the original West End production featuring Matt Henry.
Rounding out the additions is Dylan Thomas’s seasonal favourite A Child’s Christmas in Wales, adapted and directed by Emma Rice with music by Ian Ross, produced by the Emma Rice Company.
To encourage new viewers, National Theatre at Home is offering a seven-day free trial for subscribers worldwide. After the trial, subscription fees are £9.99 per month or £99.99 annually.
