Annie runs at the King’s Theatre Glasgow from Tuesday 2 March to Sunday 7 March 2027, for one week only.

Which venue in Glasgow is hosting Annie?

The production is part of the 2026–2027 UK and Ireland tour and will be staged at the King’s Theatre, 297 Bath Street, one of Glasgow’s main theatres for large touring musicals.

What performance times can I expect in Glasgow?

Listings show evening performances at 7:30 pm from Tuesday to Saturday, with no Monday show.

There are matinee performances at 2:30 pm on Wednesday and Saturday and a Sunday matinee at 2:00 pm, giving a good choice of daytime and evening options.

What is the plot of Annie?

Annie is set in 1930s New York during the Great Depression and follows a brave young orphan forced to live a life of misery at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage.

Her luck changes when she is chosen to spend a fairytale Christmas with famous billionaire Oliver Warbucks, while spiteful Miss Hannigan hatches a plan to spoil Annie’s search for her true family, told through songs like It’s the Hard-Knock Life, Easy Street, NYC, You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile, and Tomorrow.

Has Annie won any major awards?

Annie features a Tony Award winning book and score and originally won seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, for its first Broadway production.

This award winning status has helped make it one of the world’s best loved family shows, with frequent West End revivals and international tours including the 2026–2027 UK and Ireland tour.

Who is starring in Annie in Glasgow?

The Glasgow engagement is part of the 2026–2027 tour, and the official tour site states that casting, including the role of Miss Hannigan, will be announced closer to the run.

A full company of adult and child performers will bring Annie, Oliver Warbucks, Grace Farrell, the orphans, and the New York setting to life on the King’s Theatre stage.

Is Annie suitable for children and families?

The King’s Theatre and tour materials describe Annie as the world’s favourite family musical, with an uplifting story, colourful staging, and memorable songs that appeal to all ages.

Most families find it especially suitable for school age children, as any tense or emotional scenes are balanced by humour, big musical numbers, and a reassuringly happy ending.

How long does the Annie performance last in Glasgow?

The Annie musical typically runs for about two and a half hours including an interval, which matches the common running time given for major productions and past runs.

This allows the full story and all key musical numbers to unfold at a comfortable pace, with a break in the middle so audiences can rest and refresh.

How much do tickets cost for Annie in Glasgow?

Ticket sellers list a range of price bands for Annie at the King’s Theatre, with lower prices in upper seating areas and higher prices in the stalls and front circles.

Exact prices depend on performance date and seat location, so checking current availability on authorised ticketing sites is important if you need to stick to a specific budget.

How can I get cheap tickets for Annie in Glasgow?

To keep costs down, look at midweek evening performances and matinees rather than Friday and Saturday nights, as these often have lower starting prices or more affordable seat options.

Compare different areas of the theatre such as upper circle or back stalls, and watch for early booking offers, coach package deals, or group discounts that can reduce the overall cost.

Are there tips for last minute cheaper tickets?

For last minute plans, keep checking the King’s Theatre booking pages close to each performance, as returned tickets or extra seat releases may appear and sometimes be better value than early premium options.

If you are flexible about which day you attend and where you sit, you have a better chance of finding discounted or late release tickets before the run ends.

Can I use ticket resale to save money for Annie in Glasgow?

Resale tickets can occasionally be cheaper, but only buy from reputable resale platforms or official partners that clearly show seat locations and use secure payment methods.

Avoid purchasing from unverified sellers or informal social media posts, as those tickets may not be valid and you could risk losing both your money and your chance to see the show.

Why is Annie a good choice for a Glasgow theatre trip?

Annie combines a rags to riches story set at Christmas time with a Tony Award winning score, energetic choreography, and a large ensemble of adults and children, creating a feel good experience for all ages.

Its early March 2027 run at the King’s Theatre, with multiple matinee and evening performances, makes it a strong option for a late winter theatre outing in Glasgow for families, couples, and groups of friends.
