Where in Cheltenham is Barnum being performed?

What is Barnum the musical about?
Barnum is inspired by the life and legend of P.T. Barnum, the showman who turns sideshow curiosities into a spectacular circus empire. The story follows his daring schemes, his relationship with his devoted wife Charity, and the highs and lows he faces as he chases ever bigger dreams.
Has Barnum won any awards?
The original Broadway production of Barnum was highly acclaimed and won several Tony Awards, including Best Actor in a Musical for Jim Dale and awards for scenic and costume design. Its inventive mix of circus spectacle, memorable songs, and character-driven storytelling has kept it popular and frequently revived worldwide.
What can I expect from the Cheltenham tour production?
This UK tour is a fresh production featuring more than 20 actor-musicians, dazzling circus acts, and over 150 instruments played live on stage. Directed by Jonathan O’Boyle with choreography by Oti Mabuse, it blends classic musical theatre with contemporary staging, acrobatics, and bold visual flair.
How long does the Barnum performance last at the Everyman Theatre?
The stage show runs for about two hours and 15 minutes, plus an interval, depending on the performance. This makes it a full evening out that still fits comfortably around travel and parking times.
Is Barnum suitable for children and families?
Barnum is generally suitable for families, with circus tricks, music, and humour that many older children enjoy. Because the story also explores emotional themes and life choices, it tends to be best for school-age children and teens rather than very young children.
What time do Barnum performances start in Cheltenham?
Performances typically include evening shows around 7.30pm on weekday nights, plus a Saturday matinee in the afternoon. Checking the performance calendar for your chosen date ensures you pick a time that suits your travel and plans.
How can I get cheap tickets for Barnum in Cheltenham?
To keep costs down, look first at weekday performances and matinees, which often have lower starting prices than Saturday evenings. Booking early, being flexible about where you sit, and comparing prices across stalls, circle, and upper levels usually helps you find the best-value tickets.
Are there discounts or special offers for Barnum tickets?
Group rates and coach-party offers are often available for midweek performances, particularly for larger bookings. Signing up for theatre or tour mailing lists is a simple way to hear about early-bird discounts and limited-time promotions before the cheapest tickets sell out.
What are good budget seats at the Everyman Theatre?
Seats in the upper circle and some rear stalls are usually cheaper while still offering a solid view of the big circus-style numbers. Studying the seating plan and avoiding heavily restricted-view seats helps you balance price with a clear and comfortable view of the stage.
How do I get to the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham and is parking available?
The Everyman Theatre is located in the town centre and is easily reached on foot from central bus stops and nearby streets. Several public car parks sit within walking distance, so arriving a little early makes it easier to find a space and settle in before the show begins.
