What is Burlesque The Musical about

Burlesque The Musical tells the story of Ali, a small-town singer who travels to New York in search of the mother she never knew and stumbles into a secret burlesque club beneath the city lights. There she finds a dazzling underground world of music and dance, a new family of misfits and dreamers, and the courage to fight for the club she now calls home.

When is Burlesque The Musical in Woking

The musical plays at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking from Saturday 25 July to Saturday 1 August 2026. Performances run throughout that week, making it easy to fit the show into your summer plans.

Where is the New Victoria Theatre and how do I get there

The New Victoria Theatre is in the Peacocks Centre in Woking town centre. It is only a few minutes’ walk from Woking railway station and close to local bus routes and multi-storey car parks, so you can arrive easily by train, bus or car.

How long does the Woking performance last

The Woking performances follow the usual running time for Burlesque The Musical of about 2 hours and 20 to 30 minutes including an interval. You should allow around three hours in total to arrive, enjoy a drink or snack in the break and leave the theatre comfortably after the show.

What kind of music and songs are in the show

The show features powerhouse songs made famous by Christina Aguilera, Sia and Diane Warren from the original film, alongside new numbers written for the stage by Todrick Hall and Jess Folley. Expect big pop ballads, club-style dance tracks and glittering ensemble routines that match the glamorous nightclub setting.

Has Burlesque won any awards

The original Burlesque film has been widely recognised for its music, including a Golden Globe win for Diane Warren’s You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me and several other award nominations for its soundtrack and songs. The stage musical builds on this award-winning legacy with fresh arrangements and extra material that make the score feel even bigger live.

Is Burlesque The Musical suitable for children
