What is Jersey Boys about?
Jersey Boys tells the true story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, following four blue-collar boys from New Jersey as they form a band, create a distinctive sound, rise to fame, and deal with the friendships, conflicts, debts, and sacrifices behind their success on and off stage.
Has Jersey Boys won any major awards?
Jersey Boys has won four Tony Awards including Best Musical, the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Musical, and the Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album, highlighting how strongly it has been received for both its story and its music.
How long does the Jersey Boys performance last in Southampton?
The performance usually runs for around two and a half hours including an interval, so planning your journey, interval refreshments, and any post-show plans around this running time will help your trip feel relaxed.
What songs are featured in Jersey Boys?
The show includes many of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons’ biggest hits, such as Sherry, Big Girls Don’t Cry, Walk Like A Man, Beggin’, Can’t Take My Eyes Off You and December 1963 (Oh, What a Night), performed live with a full band and tight harmonies.
Is Jersey Boys suitable for children?
Because Jersey Boys contains strong language and adult themes taken from the band’s real lives, it is generally recommended for older teenagers and adults, so parents should consider the content carefully before booking for younger children.
How can I get cheap Jersey Boys tickets in Southampton?
To find cheaper tickets, look at midweek performances and any matinees, compare prices across all seating areas on the booking map, and choose higher or side seats, which are often significantly cheaper than central stalls but still give a clear view of the stage.
Are there discounts or offers for Jersey Boys at the Mayflower Theatre?
There may be group discounts, concessions for certain age groups, and occasional promotional offers or voucher deals, so checking group rates, signing up for Mayflower Theatre newsletters, and watching for theatre ticket vouchers can help reduce what you pay.
Which seats offer the best value at the Mayflower Theatre?
Good value is often found a few rows back in the stalls, toward the rear of the circle, or slightly off-centre blocks, where prices are lower than premium central seats but the sightlines still let you enjoy the cast, band, and staging clearly.
When is the best time to book tickets for the Southampton dates?
Booking early usually gives the widest choice of cheaper seats and preferred performance dates, but if you are flexible on when and where you sit, checking closer to the time can sometimes reveal remaining pockets of seats or adjusted prices on quieter shows.
How can I keep my whole trip to Jersey Boys in Southampton affordable?
To keep costs down, use advance or off-peak train or bus tickets where possible, compare and pre-book nearby car parks if you are driving, avoid optional premium add-ons you do not need, and look for reasonably priced cafés or restaurants a short walk away from the very busiest streets right by the theatre.
