Frequently Asked Questions

When is Mean Girls the Musical in Crawley?

Mean Girls the Musical is in Crawley from Monday 28 September to Saturday 3 October 2026 at The Hawth Theatre. It runs for one week only, so booking ahead is a good idea if you want specific dates or seats.

Where is Mean Girls being performed in Crawley?

The show is performed at The Hawth on Hawth Avenue, a short distance from Crawley town centre. The theatre is easy to reach by car or bus, has on-site or nearby parking, and is close enough to town for you to combine the performance with a meal or drinks before or after.

What is Mean Girls the Musical about?

Mean Girls follows Cady Heron, who moves from being homeschooled in Africa to an American high school and gets drawn into the powerful clique known as the Plastics. As she joins a plan to bring down their queen bee Regina George using secrets and the Burn Book, Cady becomes part of the bullying and gossip herself and eventually learns that kindness, honesty, and being true to who she is matter more than fitting in.

How long does the Mean Girls show last in Crawley?

The running time is around 2 hours 30 minutes including an interval. You should allow roughly three hours in total for your visit so you have plenty of time to arrive, find your seat, enjoy the interval, and leave the theatre comfortably at the end.

Is Mean Girls suitable for children and families?

The recommended age is usually 10 to 12 years and over, with under 16s needing to be accompanied by an adult and very young children not admitted. The show includes some strong language, suggestive humour, and themes such as bullying, peer pressure, and teenage relationships, so it is best suited to older children, teenagers, and adults.

Has Mean Girls the Musical won any awards?

Mean Girls has received twelve Tony Award nominations on Broadway, including Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, and Best Original Score. In the UK, it has also won Best New Musical at the WhatsOnStage Awards, an audience-voted prize that shows how popular and well loved it is with theatregoing audiences.

How can I get cheap tickets for Mean Girls in Crawley?

To get cheaper tickets, look first at early-week performances such as Monday to Thursday, which are often better value than Friday and Saturday evenings. Be flexible about where you sit by comparing different price bands in the balcony, upper levels, side sections, or rear stalls, and check a few dates so you can pick the most affordable option that still gives you a view you are happy with.

Are there discounts or special offers at The Hawth Theatre?

The Hawth and official ticket outlets sometimes offer group discounts, concessions, and promotional prices on selected performances. Checking the event information and booking pages for details of price bands, group rates, and any offer notes, and signing up for theatre emails, can help you spot early-bird deals or limited-time discounts.

When is the best time to book tickets?

Booking as soon as tickets go on sale or as soon as you know your plans usually gives you the best choice of seats and price levels, especially for Friday and Saturday shows. If you can be flexible, you can also monitor availability closer to the date in case returns or extra seats are released, but the cheapest or most central seats may already be taken.

What is the running schedule for performances in Crawley?

During the week of 28 September to 3 October 2026 there are evening performances most nights, typically starting around 7:30pm. There is also a Saturday matinee at around 2:30pm, and some performances may have access features such as audio description, BSL interpretation, or captioning, which can be especially useful if you have specific accessibility needs.

Do I need to have seen the Mean Girls film to enjoy the musical?

You do not need to have seen the film, because the musical clearly introduces Cady, Regina, the Plastics, and the high school setting from the beginning and tells a complete story on stage. Fans of the movie will enjoy recognising familiar lines and situations, while newcomers can still follow the plot easily and enjoy the humour, choreography, and songs with no prior knowledge.

What should I expect from the music and staging?

The musical features a modern pop-rock score, big ensemble numbers, and energetic choreography that bring North Shore High and its teenage drama to life. You can expect colourful sets, slick scene changes, and a mix of sharp comedy and more emotional moments that explore bullying, friendship, self-image, and the importance of accepting yourself and others.
