Where is Priscilla Queen of the Desert being performed in Bradford?

The musical is being performed at the Alhambra Theatre on Morley Street in Bradford city centre, a large venue that regularly hosts major touring West End shows and big musicals.

What is Priscilla Queen of the Desert about?

The story follows three friends – drag performers Tick and Adam and transgender woman Bernadette – who travel across the Australian outback in a battered bus called Priscilla to put on the show of a lifetime and reconnect with family. On their journey they face prejudice and mishaps but also discover friendship, love, and the courage to live openly, all set to a soundtrack of classic disco and pop hits.

Has Priscilla Queen of the Desert won any awards?

The musical is based on the film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, which won the Academy Award for Best Costume Design and several other international honours. On stage, Priscilla has received Laurence Olivier and Tony Awards for Best Costume Design and numerous nominations and awards worldwide for best musical, costumes, choreography, and performances in Sydney, the West End, and on Broadway.

What kind of music and performances can I expect?

You can expect a jukebox-style score packed with disco and dance-floor favourites such as Hot Stuff, It’s Raining Men, I Will Survive, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and Finally, performed live with powerful vocals and high-energy choreography. The Bradford run features spectacular costumes, bold staging, and big production numbers that create a party atmosphere throughout the evening.

How long does the performance in Bradford last?

Performances of Priscilla Queen of the Desert typically run for around 2 hours 20 to 2 hours 30 minutes including an interval, so you should plan for a full evening at the theatre. Arriving at least 30 minutes before the start time gives you time to find your seat, visit the bar or toilets, and settle in comfortably.

Is Priscilla Queen of the Desert suitable for children?

Parents of younger teens should consider how comfortable they are with drag performances, innuendo, and mature subject matter before deciding to bring them.

How can I get cheap tickets for Priscilla in Bradford?

To find cheaper tickets, look at early-week performances such as Monday to Wednesday evenings, as these often have lower starting prices than Friday and Saturday nights. Compare prices for different seating areas, including the upper circle or rear seats and side or restricted-view seats, and try to book early because the lowest-priced ticket allocations usually sell first.

Are there discounts or special offers available for Bradford performances?

Discounts may include early booking offers, group rates for larger parties, concession prices, and occasional promotions on selected dates. Signing up for Bradford Theatres emails, checking membership or friend schemes, and keeping an eye on off-peak performances can help you catch special prices when they are released.

Last minute tickets may be available if some performances are not sold out, and returns or extra seats are sometimes released closer to the show date. This can be a good way to find cheaper seats if you are flexible about where you sit and which performance you attend but, for busy shows or larger groups, it is safer to book ahead.
