StarKid’s Nerdy Prudes Must Die to Play West End Apollo Theatre in 2027
StarKid will bring its musical Nerdy Prudes Must Die to London’s Apollo Theatre for a six-week run in early 2027, featuring the original cast from the 2023 Los Angeles premiere. The production continues the company’s growing presence in the West End with a darkly comic story set in a high school.
Nerdy Prudes Must Die, written by Nick and Matt Lang with music and lyrics by Jeff Blim, will play the Apollo Theatre from 6 February to 7 March 2027. The show follows a group of high school students at Hatchetfield High who accidentally unleash a murderous spirit targeting nerds.
The entire original company from the Los Angeles premiere will reprise their roles, including Will Branner as Max Jägerman, Mariah Rose Faith Casillas as Steph Lauter, and Bryce Charles as Detective Shapiro. Lauren Lopez directs and choreographs the production, also appearing as Ruth Fleming.
Joining Lopez on stage are Corey Dorris as Mayor Lauter, Angela Giarratana as Grace Chasity, Jon Matteson as Richie Lipschitz, Curt Mega as Officer Bailey, Joey Richter as Peter Spankoffski, and Kim Whalen as Miss Mulberry.
StarKid first emerged in the UK with its debut at the London Palladium in May 2024, with It’s StarKid Innit, followed by I Can’t Believe It’s Been a Little Less Than a Year in April 2025. Their 2026 West End run included The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals.
Built on a strong online presence, StarKid’s musical theatre productions have attracted over 360 million views on their YouTube channel, consolidating a large fanbase for the Hatchetfield series.
Nerdy Prudes Must Die will be staged at the Apollo Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue, with performances from Tuesday to Sunday at 7pm and matinees at 2pm on weekends. The production is produced by Lambert Jackson.
