Which theatre in Birmingham is hosting Annie?

The 2026 UK and Ireland tour of Annie stops in Birmingham at The Alexandra Theatre, one of the city’s main venues for large scale touring musicals.

What is the story of Annie about?

Annie follows a hopeful young orphan in 1930s New York who dreams of finding her real parents and escaping the harsh orphanage run by Miss Hannigan.

Her life changes when billionaire Oliver Warbucks invites her to stay, and songs like It’s the Hard Knock Life and Tomorrow help tell a feel good story about family, courage, and optimism.

Has Annie won any awards?

Annie is a classic Broadway musical that won multiple Tony Awards, including Best Musical, for its original 1977 production.

Its award winning score and book helped establish it as one of the most popular family shows, and it continues to receive praise in revivals and tours worldwide.

How long is the Annie performance in Birmingham?

The Annie musical generally runs for about two and a half hours including an interval, so evening shows usually finish by around 10 pm.

This running time includes all the big musical numbers, scene changes, and a break in the middle so audiences can rest and refresh.

Is Annie suitable for children and families?

Annie is designed as a family friendly musical, with a simple story, catchy songs, and children prominently featured in the cast.

Most venues recommend it for school age children, as very young kids might find a few scenes with the villains intense, but the overall tone stays warm and uplifting.

The 2026 UK and Ireland tour features La Voix in the role of Miss Hannigan for the Birmingham dates, bringing a bold, comic twist to the character.

The production also includes a full company of adult and child performers, with further casting details released closer to the tour.

How can I get cheaper Annie tickets in Birmingham?

To find cheaper tickets, look at midweek performances or matinees rather than Friday and Saturday evenings, as these are often priced lower.

Booking early, checking different seating levels like the upper circle, and searching for family or group discounts can all help reduce the overall cost.

Are there any tips for last minute cheap tickets?

For last minute savings, check availability close to the date, as theatres sometimes release extra seats or adjust prices to fill the auditorium.

Being flexible about where you sit and which performance you attend makes it easier to grab discounted or returned tickets that appear late.

Can I use ticket resale safely for Annie in Birmingham?

Resale can be a way to find cheaper tickets, but always choose reputable resale platforms that protect buyers rather than informal social media or street sellers.

Check that resale listings show clear seat locations and limit markups so you do not pay more than necessary for the same performance.

What are the best value seats at The Alexandra for Annie?

Good value seats are often in the front or middle of the upper circle or the sides of the dress circle, where prices are lower than the premium centre stalls.

When booking, look for seats without restricted view warnings and compare several price bands to see where a small price drop makes only a small difference to the view.

Why is Annie a good choice for a night out in Birmingham?

Annie combines a simple, moving plot with big musical numbers, energetic choreography, and a hopeful message that appeals to both adults and children.

Its award winning history, familiar songs like Tomorrow, and a fresh 2026 touring production make it an easy pick for a fun theatre trip in Birmingham between 2 and 6 June 2026.
