Frequently Asked Questions

When is The Bodyguard musical in Belfast?

The Bodyguard is at the Grand Opera House in Belfast from Tuesday 5 May to Saturday 9 May 2026, with performances at 2:30 pm and 7:30 pm across the run.

Where is the show performed in Belfast?

All Belfast performances take place at the Grand Opera House on Great Victoria Street, a historic city-centre theatre surrounded by hotels, restaurants, and bars, with easy access to public transport.

What is The Bodyguard musical about?

The Bodyguard is a romantic thriller musical based on the 1992 film, where former Secret Service agent Frank Farmer is hired to protect global superstar Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker; each expects to be in charge, but neither expects to fall in love as the threat closes in.

What songs are in The Bodyguard?

The show features a full concert-style score of Whitney Houston hits, including Queen of the Night, So Emotional, One Moment in Time, Saving All My Love, Run to You, I Have Nothing, Greatest Love of All, Million Dollar Bill, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, and I Will Always Love You.

Has The Bodyguard won any awards?

The Bodyguard is billed as an international, award-winning smash-hit musical, and the original film soundtrack is one of the most acclaimed of all time, winning Grammys such as Album of the Year and Record of the Year for I Will Always Love You, alongside BRIT Awards and multiple Oscar nominations for songs including I Have Nothing and Run to You.

How long does the show last and are there intervals?

While the Belfast listing focuses on start times, the current tour usually runs for around two hours and twenty minutes including an interval, which is typical for a large-scale musical and allows time for both the suspenseful story and the full set of songs.

Is The Bodyguard suitable for children and families?

The Bodyguard carries an age guideline of around 10 and over at some venues and includes warnings for haze, loud noises, threat from a stalker, gunshots, and some strong language, so it is best suited to older children and adults rather than very young or easily scared audience members.

Do I need to know the film to enjoy the musical?

You do not need to have seen the original film to enjoy the show because it works as a stand-alone stage thriller with clear storytelling and big musical set pieces, but fans of the movie will recognise the main plot, key scenes, and many of Whitney Houston’s most famous songs.

How much are tickets for The Bodyguard in Belfast?

Ticket prices at the Grand Opera House for this run range roughly from £40.00 up to around £65.00 including the maximum applicable per-ticket booking fee, with exact prices depending on the performance date and seating area.

How can I get cheap tickets for the Belfast dates?

To find cheaper tickets, look at midweek performances rather than Saturday, compare prices for seats higher up or towards the sides, book early before the lowest-priced central seats sell out, and sign up to the Grand Opera House or major ticket-seller newsletters for presales, offers, and discount codes.

Are there discounts or group rates available?

Tour information notes that many venues, including Belfast, offer concessions and group discounts on selected performances, so it is worth asking the Grand Opera House box office about savings for groups, schools, or specific age categories on your preferred dates.

What is the best way to travel to the Grand Opera House Belfast?

The Grand Opera House is on Great Victoria Street in central Belfast, close to Great Victoria Street rail and bus stations and near city car parks, so the easiest trip is usually by public transport or by parking nearby and allowing extra time for evening traffic before the show.
