Cast confirmed for Mill at Sonning’s revival of Cole Porter’s Anything Goes

The Mill at Sonning has announced the cast for its upcoming revival of Cole Porter’s 1934 musical Anything Goes, set to run from November 2026 to January 2027. The production promises a fresh take on the classic tale of mistaken identities and romance aboard the SS American.

Gemma Sutton will take the role of nightclub singer Reno Sweeney, while Josh St Clair stars as stowaway Billy Crocker in the Mill at Sonning’s revival of Anything Goes. The musical follows the passengers aboard the SS American as they navigate romantic entanglements and humorous mix-ups during their voyage.

The production features iconic Cole Porter songs such as “I Get a Kick Out of You”, “You’re the Top” and the titular “Anything Goes”. Joseph Pitcher directs the show, with choreography by Gary Lloyd. The cast also includes Lulu-Mae Pears as Hope Harcourt, Martin Allanson as Lord Evelyn Oakleigh, and Elizabeth Elvin as Evangeline Harcourt.

Additional cast members are Chris Grahamson as Moonface Martin, Jessica Lim as Erma Latour, and Jo Servi as Elisha Whitney. Jon Bonner appears as the Captain, Rob Gathercole as the Purser, and Kristian Jacobs as Minister Henry T Dobson. Lorenzo de Liso makes his professional debut in the role of Dippy.

The creative team supporting the production features set designer Diego Pitarch, costume designer Natalie Titchener, and musical supervisor Charlie Ingles, who also serves as orchestrator and arranger. Jemma Starling is the musical director, supported by lighting designer Chris Mould and sound designer Chris Whybrow.

The production utilises the revised book by Timothy Crouse and John Weidman, adapted from the 1987 Broadway revival originally produced by Lincoln Center Theater. The original book was written by P G Wodehouse, Guy Bolton, Howard Lindsay, and Russel Crouse.

Other creative and production roles include casting director Jane Deitch, assistant director Richard Carson, assistant choreographer Lauren Gore, and a team of stage and sound managers. The revival’s run will span from 19 November 2026 to 17 January 2027 at the Mill at Sonning.

Anything Goes remains a staple of musical theatre, combining sharp wit and memorable scores. This latest revival contributes to the ongoing tradition of reinterpretations of classic shows in regional theatres.
