Alex Kingston and Damien Molony lead cast of Copenhagen at Hampstead Theatre

Hampstead Theatre has announced the full cast and creative team for its upcoming revival of Michael Frayn’s Copenhagen. The production marks the play’s first London revival since its 1998 premiere and will run from 27 March to 2 May.

Michael Longhurst directs the main stage production of Copenhagen, which centres on a wartime meeting between physicists Niels Bohr and Werner Heisenberg. The story is set in 1941 during the Second World War and explores Heisenberg’s visit to Copenhagen to see his former mentor and collaborator Bohr.

Damien Molony takes the role of Heisenberg, with Alex Kingston cast as Margrethe and Richard Schiff as Bohr. This casting brings together a dynamic ensemble for Frayn’s multi-award-winning play, known for its exploration of scientific and moral questions.

The creative team includes designer Joanna Scotcher, lighting designer Neil Austin, and sound designer Richard Hammarton. Casting director Jim Carnahan completes the production’s key personnel.

Copenhagen’s return to the London stage offers a rare opportunity to revisit a play that blends historical drama and philosophical inquiry. Hampstead Theatre hosts the revival on its main stage, continuing its tradition of presenting thought-provoking new and classic works.
