Frequently Asked Questions
When is Back to the Future The Musical in Liverpool?
Back to the Future The Musical is at Liverpool Empire Theatre from 12 January to 6 February 2027, with performances spread across weekdays and weekends during this four week run.
Where is Back to the Future The Musical playing in Liverpool?
The show is playing at the Liverpool Empire Theatre on Lime Street, a large city centre venue close to Liverpool Lime Street station and bus routes, making it easy to reach by public transport.
What is Back to the Future The Musical about?
The musical follows teenager Marty McFly, who is accidentally sent from 1985 back to 1955 in a time machine built by eccentric scientist Doc Brown, where he disrupts his parents’ first meeting and must repair the timeline and get back home before he changes his future forever.
Has Back to the Future The Musical won any awards?
Back to the Future The Musical is a multi award winning production, including the 2022 Olivier Award for Best New Musical as well as major Best New Musical wins at the WhatsOnStage Awards and Broadway World Awards, highlighting its music, design, and overall production quality.
What kind of music does the show feature?
The show blends brand new songs written for the stage with famous tracks from the film, including The Power of Love, Johnny B Goode, Earth Angel, and Back in Time, giving audiences both fresh musical theatre numbers and nostalgic movie favourites.
How long is the performance at Liverpool Empire?
The performance typically lasts around two hours and forty minutes including an interval, so you should plan for an evening or afternoon out that comfortably covers this full running time.
Is Back to the Future The Musical suitable for children?
The musical is generally suitable for families and older children, with lots of humour, big visual effects, and music, but it does include mild language, loud sounds, and some comic danger, so very young or noise sensitive children may find certain moments intense.
How can I get cheap tickets for Liverpool dates?
To find cheaper tickets, look at midweek performances, choose earlier weeks in the run rather than final Saturdays, and consider upper circle or side seats instead of premium stalls, as these often offer a good view at a lower price.
Are there discounts or special offers available?
You can sometimes save money through early booking offers, off peak price bands, group rates, or occasional promotions, so it helps to compare different dates and times and to join theatre or ticket seller mailing lists where advance sale and discount news is often shared first.
Can I buy last minute tickets for Back to the Future in Liverpool?
Last minute tickets may be available if a performance is not sold out, and checking close to the date can reveal returned or late release seats, but for popular Friday and Saturday evenings it is safer to book ahead if you want the best choice of price and location.
What makes the Liverpool production special?
This Liverpool run is part of the first UK tour of the multi award winning show and is staged in one of the largest theatres in the country, combining spectacular time travel effects, an onstage DeLorean, and a big cast with the atmosphere of a packed Empire audience.
How far in advance should I book Liverpool tickets?
Because the Liverpool dates follow straight after the busy Edinburgh Christmas run and only last four weeks, weekend and closing week performances can sell quickly, so booking these earlier gives better seat and price options, while more flexible theatregoers may find stronger value on midweek dates at the start of the run.
