Mamma Mia! unveils new West End cast as run extends to October 2027
The iconic West End production of Mamma Mia! has announced a fresh ensemble set to begin performances in October 2026, alongside an extension of its booking at the Novello Theatre through October 2027.
Mamma Mia! will welcome its new West End company from Monday 12 October 2026 at the Novello Theatre, confirming an extended residency until 2 October 2027. This announcement secures the musical’s presence in London’s theatre scene for another year.
Sara Poyzer and Richard Standing will continue their roles as Donna and Sam respectively, while Vivien Carter, known for Anything Goes, joins as Tanya. Laura Medforth, Daniel Crowder, and Rakesh Boury complete the principal cast as Rosie, Harry, and Bill.
Ellie Gilbert-Grey steps into the role of Sophie, with Kyle Cox of & Juliet playing Sky. The roles of Ali and Lisa will be taken by Natorii Illidge from Moulin Rouge! The Musical and Foxy Valentine, respectively. Edward Turner and Charlie Garton, from Grease and Matilda the Musical, will portray Eddie and Pepper.
Emma Odell, whose credits include Sister Act, will perform as Donna at select performances. The ensemble is bolstered by new members Margaret Atta, Dan Burstow, Will Forgave, Erin-Sophie Halliday, and others joining returning company members.
Mamma Mia! marked its 27th anniversary on 6 April 2026 and is the third longest-running musical in West End history. Since opening at the Prince Edward Theatre on 6 April 1999, it has played nearly 11,000 performances and attracted over 11 million audience members.
The show’s enduring appeal stems from the music and lyrics of Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus and the book by Catherine Johnson. Phyllida Lloyd directs, with choreography by Anthony Van Laast and design teams led by Mark Thompson, Howard Harrison, Andrew Bruce, and Bobby Aitken. Musical supervision and arrangements are by Martin Koch.
Produced by Judy Craymer, Richard East, and Björn Ulvaeus for Littlestar in collaboration with Universal Music Group, Mamma Mia! remains a staple of the West End theatrical landscape.
