Park Theatre unveils star-studded cast for Whodunnit [Unrehearsed] 4 immersive comedy
Park Theatre has announced an expanded celebrity line-up for Whodunnit [Unrehearsed] 4, its immersive fundraising comedy event returning in May 2026. The production promises an interactive Wild West experience with a rotating cast of unrehearsed celebrity sheriffs.
Whodunnit [Unrehearsed] 4 will run at Park Theatre from 11 May to 27 June 2026, transforming the venue into the Wild West town of Graveside. The immersive staging extends from the street outside through the foyers, bars, and auditorium, creating an all-encompassing environment for audiences.
Each performance features a different celebrity guest in the central role of Sheriff, performing without rehearsal and guided by live earpiece cues. Returning voice artist Sir Ian McKellen will provide additional voice work throughout the production.
Seven previously announced guest sheriffs include Gillian Anderson, Emma Thompson, Adrian Dunbar, Jim Broadbent, Sandi Toksvig, Sanjeev Bhaskar, and Hugh Bonneville. The newly revealed cast adds Adjoa Andoh, Liz Carr, Julian Clary, Kerry Ellis, Chris McCausland, Michael Palin, Alison Steadman, Cathy Tyson, and David Suchet.
The supporting cast comprises Toby Baddeley as Buck Steed, Caroline Deverill as Dawn Frencham, Gabriel Fogarty-Graveson as Jim Ranson, Iona Fraser as Verity Hargreaves, Edward Kaye as James Early, Matthew Romain as Rev Virgil, and Susanna Wolff as Meg Frencham.
The event raises funds for Park Theatre’s core activities, including building upkeep, new writing development, and community and education programmes. Operating without public subsidy, the theatre relies on income from productions like Whodunnit [Unrehearsed].
The venue will be extensively themed, with the exterior redesigned as a Western streetscape. Bar levels will feature hay bales, barrels, and The Last Chance Saloon bar in Park90, offering themed food, drink, live performances, and interactive elements.
Audiences are encouraged to arrive early, dress in costume, and engage with activities such as a dressing-up station, photo booth, and interaction with a community chorus performing throughout public areas. Front of house teams will also appear in character.
Inside the Park200 auditorium, a house band will play pre-show sets on piano, banjo, fiddle, and percussion. Seating will be partially reconfigured for cabaret-style tables, and the show will include music, audience interaction, and even onstage bartender roles for ticket holders.
