Priscilla Queen of the Desert is at the New Victoria Theatre Woking from Monday 11 May to Saturday 16 May 2026 as part of the 2026 UK and Ireland tour.

Where is Priscilla Queen of the Desert being performed in Woking?

The musical is being performed at the New Victoria Theatre, in The Peacocks Centre in Woking town centre, a large venue that regularly hosts major touring West End shows.

What is Priscilla Queen of the Desert about?

The story follows three friends – drag performers Tick and Adam and transgender woman Bernadette – who travel across the Australian outback in a battered bus called Priscilla to put on a show and reconnect with family. On their journey they face prejudice and danger but also discover friendship, forgiveness, and the courage to live openly, all set to a soundtrack of famous disco and pop hits.

Has Priscilla Queen of the Desert won any awards?

The musical is adapted from the film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, which won an Academy Award for Best Costume Design. On stage, it has earned a Laurence Olivier Award and a Tony Award for Best Costume Design, along with multiple nominations and wins worldwide for best musical, costumes, performances, and production.

What kind of music and performances can I expect?

You can expect a jukebox-style score packed with 80s and 90s disco and dance anthems such as Hot Stuff, It’s Raining Men, I Will Survive, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and Finally, all performed live with big vocals and high-energy choreography. The Woking run promises spectacular and vivid costumes, bold staging, and a party atmosphere that turns many songs into full-scale production numbers.

How long does the performance in Woking last?

Performances of Priscilla Queen of the Desert typically run for around 2 hours 20 to 2 hours 30 minutes including an interval, so you should plan for a full evening at the theatre. It is a good idea to arrive at least 30 minutes before the start time so you can find your seat, visit the bar or toilets, and settle in without rushing.

Is Priscilla Queen of the Desert suitable for children?

The show includes adult humour, some strong language, and themes involving sexuality, homophobia, and gender identity, so it is mainly recommended for older teenagers and adults. Parents of younger teens should think about how comfortable they are with drag performances, innuendo, and mature subject matter before deciding to bring them.

How can I get cheap tickets for Priscilla in Woking?

To find cheaper tickets, look at off-peak performances such as Monday to Thursday evenings, as these often have lower starting prices than Friday and Saturday shows. Compare different seating areas, including upper levels or side and restricted-view seats, and try to book early because the lowest-priced ticket allocations usually sell first.

Discounts may include early booking offers, group rates, and occasional promotions on selected performances or seats. Signing up for New Victoria Theatre and ticket-seller newsletters, checking membership schemes, and keeping an eye on off-peak dates can help you catch deals when they appear.

Can I get last minute tickets for Priscilla Queen of the Desert in Woking?

Last minute tickets may be available if some performances are not sold out, and returns or extra seats are sometimes released closer to the date. This can be a good way to pick up cheaper seats if you are flexible about where you sit and which performance you attend, but for popular shows or larger groups it is safer to book ahead.
