What is The Bodyguard musical about?

The Bodyguard is a romantic thriller based on the 1992 film, where former Secret Service agent Frank Farmer is hired to protect global superstar Rachel Marron from a dangerous stalker, and as they clash over her security, they slowly fall in love while the threat moves closer.

The stage production is promoted as an international, award-winning smash-hit musical, and the original West End run received Olivier Award nominations including Best New Musical, while the film soundtrack won Grammys, BRIT Awards, American Music Awards, and special Billboard awards for I Will Always Love You and its record-breaking chart success.

How long does the show last and is there an interval?

The Bodyguard on tour runs for about 2 hours 20 minutes including an interval, which is typical for a large-scale musical and allows time for the suspenseful story and all the major musical numbers.

Is The Bodyguard suitable for children and families?

The show is generally recommended for older children and adults because it includes a stalker storyline, threat of violence, gunshots, haze and flashing lights, and some strong language, so families should follow the venue’s age guidance and consider whether younger or very sensitive children will be comfortable.

Do I need to know the film to enjoy the musical?

You do not need to have seen the original film to enjoy the musical because it works as a clear, stand-alone stage story with concert-style performances, but fans of the movie will recognise the central plot, key scenes, and many of Whitney Houston’s most famous songs.

How can I get cheap tickets for the Bristol dates?
