Frequently Asked Questions

When is Back to the Future The Musical in Milton Keynes?

Back to the Future The Musical is at Milton Keynes Theatre from 9 February to 27 February 2027, with performances across weekdays and weekends during this three week run.

Where is Back to the Future The Musical playing in Milton Keynes?

The show is playing at Milton Keynes Theatre, a major regional venue in the city centre that regularly hosts large touring West End productions and is easy to reach by public transport and local parking.

What is Back to the Future The Musical about?

The musical follows teenager Marty McFly, who is accidentally sent from 1985 back to 1955 in a time machine built by eccentric scientist Doc Brown, where he disrupts his parents’ first meeting and must fix the past, restore the timeline, and get back to his own time before it is too late.

Has Back to the Future The Musical won any awards?

Back to the Future The Musical is a multi award winning production, including the 2022 Olivier Award for Best New Musical as well as Best New Musical wins at the WhatsOnStage Awards and Broadway World Awards, underlining its strong score, visuals, and overall production quality.

What kind of music is in the show?

The show combines brand new songs written by Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard with classic hits from the film, such as The Power of Love, Johnny B Goode, Earth Angel, and Back in Time, giving audiences both fresh musical theatre numbers and the iconic tracks they know from the movie.

How long is the performance at Milton Keynes Theatre?

The performance typically runs for around two and a half hours including an interval, so you should plan your evening or afternoon to allow enough time for the full show plus arriving, taking your seat, and leaving the theatre comfortably.

Is Back to the Future The Musical suitable for children?

The musical is generally suitable for families and older children, with lots of humour, music, and big visual effects, but it does include mild language, loud sound effects, and moments of comic peril similar to the original film, so parents of very young or noise sensitive children may want to consider this.

How can I get cheap tickets for Milton Keynes dates?

To get cheaper tickets, look at midweek performances instead of Friday or Saturday nights, choose earlier dates in the run, and consider upper circle or side view seats which are usually cheaper than premium stalls while still offering a good view of the stage.

Are there discounts or special offers available?

You may find savings through early booking prices, off peak performances, group rates, or occasional promotional offers, so it helps to compare different dates and times, avoid the highest demand shows, and sign up to theatre or ticket seller mailing lists where advance sales and discounts are often announced first.

Can I buy last minute tickets for Back to the Future in Milton Keynes?

Last minute tickets can sometimes be available if a performance has not sold out, and checking close to the date may reveal returned or late release seats, but for popular evenings or the final shows of the run it is safer to book in advance to secure the price and seats you want.

What makes the Milton Keynes run special?

This Milton Keynes engagement is part of the first UK tour of the multi award winning show, bringing the full scale production, including the onstage DeLorean, high energy choreography, and large cast, to one of the region’s leading theatres with a strong track record for big touring musicals.

How far in advance should I book Milton Keynes tickets?

Because the run is limited to just under three weeks, weekend and closing week performances can sell quickly, so if you want those dates or the best choice of central seats it is wise to book as early as possible, while more flexible theatregoers looking for value may find better availability on midweek performances at the start of the run.
