Korean-language Six album released featuring original Seoul cast ahead of return
The musical Six has released its first Korean-language studio album, featuring the original Korean production’s six Queens. The album arrives ahead of the show’s December return to Seoul, offering fans a pop take on the score sung entirely in Korean.
Six’s Korean studio album was released worldwide on 23 September through 6 Music, the musical’s in-house record label. The recording features Sonnet Son, Jiwoo Kim, Hyena Park, Hyunsun Choi, Ryeowon Kim and Juhye Yoo, who all appeared in the show’s original Korean company.
The album is a pop production with a Korean translation of the Six score, produced by Joe Beighton, Tom Curran, Sam Featherstone, Toby Marlow, Lucy Moss and Katy Richardson. The band includes music director Eunyoung Kim on keys, Jisoo Chae, Dasom Wi, Jihye Lee and Seungah Hong on drums, guitar and bass respectively.
This release follows Six’s first official Spanish-language recording earlier this year, which featured the original Spanish cast and coincided with the musical’s Madrid premiere at Teatro Gran Vía. The Korean album signals the ongoing global reach of Six’s music and adaptations in multiple languages.
The Korean-language production itself is scheduled to return to the Seoul stage in December, making this album a timely companion and marketing tool for local audiences. It adds to Six’s growing discography of international cast recordings showcasing the musical’s worldwide popularity.
By producing albums in different languages, Six’s creative team continues to broaden the show’s appeal, allowing fans to experience the story and songs in their native tongues.
