Wilton’s Music Hall reveals 2027 spring season with Keith Allen and Tabby Lamb
Wilton’s Music Hall has announced its spring 2027 season, featuring a new comedy starring Keith Allen and a play by Tabby Lamb exploring pioneering transgender histories. The diverse programme also includes works by Elizabeth Godber and a blend of music, spoken word, and physical theatre.
The spring 2027 season at Wilton’s Music Hall opens with Tom Carradine and his six-piece band The China Plates in Cockney Sing-along on 11 January. Highlights include a new comedy, Not the Benny Hill Show, running from 6 to 17 April, starring Keith Allen and penned by Jonathan Maitland. Directed by Dugland Bruce Lockhart, the dark comedy examines cancel culture and the durability of legacies under modern scrutiny.
Following this is The Law of Mayhem by Tabby Lamb from 20 to 24 April. The play explores the lives of racing driver and RAF pilot Roberta Cowell and ship’s doctor Michael Dillon, two key figures in British transgender history who met in 1949. The production uses circus as a physical language to depict their remarkable relationship, which ultimately led to separation.
Elizabeth Godber’s comedy Wolf Country runs from 25 to 27 January. The show, directed by Jane Thornton, addresses themes of friendship, fear and the supernatural, set to a country music score. Other spoken word and theatrical highlights include Richard Brooks discussing his Post Office Horizon IT scandal book and Will Adamsdale presenting a show about creating a hit sitcom with ChatGPT.
Opera della Lunna presents a semi-staged version of The Arcadians from 14 to 15 January, while Arbeau Productions offers Paradise Lost on 19 January, directed by Olivier Award winner Keith Warner. Stewart Lee’s dark comedy inspired by The Owl and the Pussycat features Sally Homer and John Mackay on 21 January. Cabaret vs Cancer hosts a variety gala on 22 January.
Further events include The Lucky Dog Picturehouse celebrating the centenary of Fritz Lang’s Metropolis in early February and The Tiger Lillies collaborating with La Perla 29 for A Macbeth Song from 23 February to 6 March. The season mixes vintage film screenings with live musical accompaniment, spoken word, and physical theatre.
The season’s concluding weeks offer a wide range of performances such as Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Mikado by Charles Court Opera in mid-March, Kenneth Williams: A Celebration by Mark Farrelly in late March, and new music hall productions blending hip hop and R&B. The final days in April include a nostalgic one-person show inspired by The Breakfast Club and live scores to silent films.
Wilton’s Music Hall’s spring 2027 programme showcases its ongoing commitment to diverse storytelling through music, theatre, and live performance, reflecting contemporary themes and historical narratives alike.
