New musical Sea Witch unveils full cast and new song with Natalie Paris

The complete cast of the new musical Sea Witch has been announced ahead of its world premiere at Theatre Royal Drury Lane. A new music video featuring Natalie Paris, who stars as Evie, has also been released.

Sea Witch, created and conceived by Kristopher Russell and Michael David Glover, will debut at Theatre Royal Drury Lane with special performances. The musical is based on Sarah Henning’s novel of the same name and adapted with permission from HarperCollins Publishers.

Russell also directs the Drury Lane run, with music and lyrics by Segun Fawole and a book by Glover. The story acts as a prequel inspired by The Little Mermaid, exploring the origins of one of the sea’s infamous villains.

The plot centres around Evie, a witch living in a world where magic is banned, whose fate becomes intertwined with Annemette, a mermaid harbouring a secret. Their relationship drives a pivotal journey that reshapes both their futures.

The cast is led by Natalie Paris as Evie, Michelle Visage as Tante Hansa and Jay McGuiness as Iker. Mazz Murray will appear as Queen Charlotte, Amy Di Bartolomeo as Annemette and Natalie Kassanga as Malvina.

Choreographer Dean Lee oversees the dance company, supported by associate choreographer Elena Russell. The creative team also features orchestrator and musical producer Jeff Nang, lighting designer Joshie Harriette and casting director Peter Noden.

Among the ensemble are WhatsOnStage Award nominee Djavan Van De Fliert, alongside Danny Bailey, Elizabeth Bright, Lucca Chadwick-Patel and others. The extensive dance company brings additional depth and movement to the production.

Fans can now hear Paris performing a new number from the show, offering a first glimpse of the musical’s sound and style. The production promises to add a fresh twist to the well-trodden mermaid tale at Drury Lane.
