13 Going On 30 musical announces 2025 Manchester cast recording release

The original UK cast recording of 13 Going On 30: The Musical will be released on 4 September 2026 via Decca Records. This marks a significant moment for the theatrical adaptation of the popular 2004 film, capturing its Manchester premiere cast.

The cast recording features the original ensemble from the musical’s world premiere at Manchester Opera House in September 2025. The album is led by Lucie Jones as Jenna Rink and David Hunter as Matt Flamhaff, alongside Grace Mouat, Caleb Roberts, Andrew Berlin, Amelia Minto, and Max Bispham in principal roles.

The musical won a WhatsOnStage Award following its Manchester run and is set for its North American premiere later this year at Toronto’s Mirvish 2026/27 season. It is based on the 2004 film starring Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo.

The book was written by the film’s writers Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa, with music and lyrics by Michael Weiner and Alan Zachary. Weiner and Zachary are known for their work on First Date and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.

The album’s arrangements and orchestrations were created by Alan Williams, Michael Weiner, and Alan Zachary, featuring electronic music design by Phij Adams and associate orchestrations by Jerome Van Den Berghe. Production was handled by Williams, Weiner, and Zachary.

Recording and engineering credits include Joe Rubel (mixing), Luke Farnell (engineering), and Lewis Hopkin (mastering). The musicians featured span keyboards, bass, guitar, drums, and strings, with Amy Shackcloth serving as musical director.

The production was developed by ROYO, Revolution Studios, Wendy Federman, Phil Kenny, Todd Garner, Marla Levine, Dean Stolber, and executive producer Todd Garner. The recording captures the full energy and scope of the original Manchester staging.
