Leslie Odom Jr to make West End debut as Aaron Burr in Hamilton
Leslie Odom Jr will reprise his Broadway role as Aaron Burr in Hamilton’s London production this summer, marking his West End debut. His nine-week run at the Victoria Palace Theatre highlights a high-profile addition to the cast of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s revolutionary musical.
Leslie Odom Jr is set to return to the role he first originated on Broadway when he joins Hamilton at the Victoria Palace Theatre from 3 July to 5 September 2026. This engagement will be Odom’s first performance in the West End, bringing his acclaimed portrayal of Aaron Burr to London audiences.
Producer Cameron Mackintosh said he was “knocked out” by Odom’s performance when seeing Hamilton’s New York try-out at the Public Theater more than ten years ago. He expressed excitement that London theatre-goers will experience Odom’s interpretation during this short season alongside the current cast.
Odom described returning to Hamilton as “a profoundly healing artistic experience” and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to perform with the London company. He noted his anticipation to share Lin-Manuel Miranda’s music with an international audience that he has found to be equally passionate about the show.
The production’s current cast features Alex Sawyer as Alexander Hamilton, Jay Perry as Aaron Burr, and Emily-Mae as Angelica Schuyler. Supporting roles include Bente Mulan as Eliza Hamilton, Jonathan Andrew Hume as George Washington, and Yeukayi Ushe as Marquis De Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson, among others.
Adam J Bernard will also cover the role of Alexander Hamilton at certain performances, while further casting announcements for the company from 15 June 2026 are yet to be confirmed.
