Jamie Muscato and Joy Woods have been announced as the new Emcee and Sally Bowles in the West End production of Cabaret. The pair will begin their tenure at the Kit Kat Club from 25 May 2026 in the long-running musical’s latest casting update.
Cabaret has confirmed Jamie Muscato and Joy Woods will take over the leading roles of the Emcee and Sally Bowles respectively in the West End production from 25 May 2026. The show is currently booking performances until 30 January 2027 at its London venue.
Muscato and Woods join an ensemble led by Baker Mukasa as Clifford Bradshaw, Ruthie Henshall as Fraulein Schneider, Robert Hands as Herr Schultz, Lucas Koch as Ernst Ludwig and Jessica Kirton in dual roles as Fraulein Kost and Fritzie. Other company members include Joe Atkinson, Xavion Campbell-Brown, and Marina Tavolieri among others.
Jamie Muscato’s final performance is scheduled for 19 September 2026, while Joy Woods will finish earlier on 4 September. Between 7 and 19 September, Tavolieri will assume the role of Sally Bowles. Additional dates exist when Muscato and Woods will not perform, with understudies stepping in.
Cabaret originally opened in the West End in late 2021 and is directed by Rebecca Frecknall. The production features set and costume design by Tom Scutt, choreography by Julia Cheng, and musical supervision by Jennifer Whyte. Ben van Tienen serves as musical director, with lighting and sound design by Isabella Byrd and Nick Lidster respectively.
The show is based on the play I Am a Camera by John Van Druten and the Berlin Stories by Christopher Isherwood, with score composed by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and book by Joe Masteroff. Muscato and Woods join a production that continues to attract attention with its acclaimed creative team and robust cast.
Casting is overseen by Stuart Burt, with associate direction and prologue direction by Jordan Fein. The prologue composer and musical director is Angus MacRae, supported by a dedicated prologue company ensemble.
Cabaret’s continued presence in the West End reflects an enduring interest in the exploration of Weimar-era themes and the musical’s able reinvention under Frecknall’s direction. The latest casting news confirms its ongoing vitality at the heart of London’s theatre scene.
