Hercules announces new cast for Theatre Royal Drury Lane extension
The stage musical Hercules has unveiled its new company ahead of a final extension at Theatre Royal Drury Lane, with Bradley Gibson returning in the title role. The production continues to bring Disney’s 1997 animated hit to life with acclaimed creative talent.
Hercules, based on the Walt Disney Studios animated film directed by John Musker and Ron Clements, will run until 5 September 2026 at Theatre Royal Drury Lane. The show features music by Alan Menken, lyrics by David Zippel, and a new book by Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah.
Bradley Gibson returns as Hercules from 29 June, joined by Mae Ann Jorolan as Meg, Emile Ruddock as Phil, and Malinda Parris as Calliope among others. The full new company also includes Leslie Beehann, Kimmy Edwards, Candace Furbert, Paige Peddie, Stephen Carlile, Craig Gallivan, Matt Overfield, Felipe Bejarano, Psalms-Nissi Myers-Reid, and Francessca Daniella-Baker.
Directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw with co-choreography by Tanisha Scott, the production maintains its vivid energy through the team’s combined expertise. Scenic and video design comes from Dane Laffrey, while costumes are by Gregg Barnes and Sky Switser.
The technical creative team includes Jeff Croiter on lighting, Adam Fisher on sound, George Reeve on video design, and Jeremy Chernick on special effects. Hair and wig design is by Mia M Neal with make-up by Kirk Cambridge-Del Pesche.
Musical arrangements are overseen by Michael Kosarin as music supervisor and arranger, with orchestrations by Danny Troob and Joseph Joubert, and dance arrangements by David Chase. Casting is handled by Natalie Gallacher for Pippa Ailion and Natalie Gallacher Casting.
The show opened last summer and has been nominated for three WhatsOnStage Awards including Best New Musical. It draws on the legacy of the original film, which won Best Animation Feature at the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards and received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song for “Go the Distance.”
Hercules’ continued presence at one of London’s flagship theatres underscores the enduring appeal of Disney’s musical adaptations on the West End stage.
