Love Never Dies in Concert announces West End cast additions at London Palladium
The concert production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies, the sequel to The Phantom of the Opera, has revealed new casting for its autumn run at the London Palladium. The announcement adds George Blagden, Courtney Stapleton, and Mazz Murray to the ensemble for the three-night event.
Love Never Dies in Concert will take place from 16 to 18 October at the London Palladium, continuing the 40th anniversary celebrations of The Phantom of the Opera. The show is set ten years after the Phantom’s disappearance from Paris and imagines him luring Christine, her husband Raoul, and their son Gustave to New York to revisit their shared past.
Jamie Muscato and Celinde Schoenmaker return to lead the cast as the Phantom and Christine respectively. George Blagden joins as Raoul, Courtney Stapleton as Meg, and Mazz Murray as Giry.
The concert is directed by Shaun Kerrison, with set and costume design by Rebecca Brower. Joanna Goodwin provides choreography, tim Deiling is responsible for lighting design, and Paul Gatehouse oversees sound design. Music supervision is by Simon Lee, casting by Sarah Jane Price, and production is managed by Pete Kramer, with general management by Sam Quested for QUBE Theatricals.
Produced by Darren Bell alongside Cuffe & Taylor for Live Nation, the concert follows a previous WhatsonStage Award-winning staging at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
The original Phantom of the Opera musical, which opened in 1986, has been seen by over 160 million people worldwide and continues its long-running West End presence at His Majesty’s Theatre.
Further plans for the anniversary celebrations are yet to be announced.
