Cassidy Janson to star in Burlesque the Musical’s London return at Arts at Marble Arch

Cassidy Janson will lead the cast of Burlesque the Musical when it returns to London this autumn, marking a new run at the Arts at Marble Arch. The production, based on the Christina Aguilera and Cher film, promises a fresh London stage life after successful runs elsewhere in the UK.

Burlesque the Musical, written and directed by Steven Antin, follows the story of Ali, who travels to New York seeking her mother and becomes part of an underground club scene. Cassidy Janson joins the production in the role of Tess, described by Antin as “glamorous, funny, fierce, wildly talented” with “sass and heart.”

The musical will open previews on Saturday 12 September 2026, with performances booked until Sunday 31 January 2027 at the new 550-seat Arts at Marble Arch. Shows run from Tuesday to Saturday at 7.30pm, with matinees on Saturdays at 3pm and Sundays at 2pm and 7pm.

Before this London engagement, Burlesque the Musical played two runs in Manchester, a season in Glasgow, and a sold-out limited season at the Savoy Theatre. Simultaneously to this London run, a second production will embark on a UK tour starting at the New Victoria Theatre, Woking.

The show features a score with songs by Christina Aguilera, Sia, Diane Warren, Jess Folley and Todrick Hall. Aguilera also serves as an executive producer alongside Adam Paulden, Jason Haigh-Ellery, Steven Antin, Clint Culpepper and In Fine Company.

Janson described the production as featuring “huge” songs, “off the charts” glamour and “absolutely insane” costumes. Details about the rest of the cast and creative team for the London run are yet to be announced.

Burlesque the Musical’s return reflects continued appetite for adaptations of popular films into theatrical productions, boosted here by the original film’s iconic soundtrack and backing from its star and creators.
