Cameron Mackintosh has revealed additional casting for Les Misérables: The Arena Concert Spectacular, set to tour the UK and Ireland before heading to New York in 2026. The production marks a high point in the musical’s 40th anniversary celebrations following a record-breaking world tour.
Les Misérables: The Arena Concert Spectacular will return to UK and Irish venues including Dublin’s 3Arena, Birmingham’s Utilita Arena, and London’s Royal Albert Hall before arriving at Radio City Music Hall in New York in summer 2026. This arena production, developed from Les Misérables: The Staged Concert, has previously sold over a million tickets across 30 cities in 25 countries since opening in Belfast in 2024.
The latest casting announcement includes original company member Peter Polycarpou joining as the Bishop of Digne for the Dublin, Birmingham and London dates. Rob Madge, a WhatsOnStage Award winner, returns as Bamatabois on the 2026 tour. In New York, Philip Quast, who formerly played Javert, will take on the role of the Bishop of Digne.
The extensive ensemble is filled out by West End performers such as Kelly Agbowu, Amelia Broadway, Mary Jean Caldwell, Harry Chandler, Rosy Church, Gabrielle Cummins, Beth Curnock, and many others. Several young actors will alternate the role of Gavroche and Little Cosette, though the Little Cosette casting for New York is yet to be announced.
Key leads confirmed for the UK dates include Killian Donnelly, Gerónimo Rauch, and Alfie Boe sharing the role of Jean Valjean. Bradley Jaden and Jeremy Secomb alternate as Javert, while Matt Lucas will be prominent as Thénardier. Madame Thénardier roles will alternate between Marina Prior and Helen Walsh or Helen Walsh alone depending on the city. Samantha Barks reprises Fantine for the Birmingham, London and New York runs.
Supporting roles are rounded out with Jac Yarrow as Marius, Shan Ako as Éponine, Beatrice Penny-Touré as Cosette, and Christian Mark Gibbs as Enjolras throughout the tour. The production continues to showcase a wide array of talent across all key parts.
