Shakespeare’s Globe unveils flamenco-infused Love’s Labour’s Lost cast for 2026

Shakespeare’s Globe has announced the full cast and creative team for its 2026 production of Love’s Labour’s Lost, featuring a flamenco-inspired reinterpretation. The rarely staged comedy will run at the Globe Theatre from 17 July to 13 September under the direction of Indiana Lown-Collins in her directorial debut at the venue.

The new production of Love’s Labour’s Lost at Shakespeare’s Globe reimagines the Shakespearean comedy through a flamenco lens. Director Indiana Lown-Collins leads the staging, incorporating flamenco dancers Pablo Egea and Anita La Maltesa and singer Carlos Lobo Cordón alongside the acting ensemble.

The cast features Philip Arditti as Berowne, Ned Costello appearing as the King of Navarre, Norah Lopez Holden as the Princess, and Bea Segura in the role of Rosaline. Katy Stephens takes on the characters Maria and Holofernes, with supporting performances from Suzanne Ahmet, Daniel Abbott, Andro Crespo, Daniel Crossley, Joshua Hill, Philip Labey, Jimena Larraguivel, Jax Guerrero, and Zannie Benfield.

Returning performers to the Globe include Arditti, Lopez Holden, Segura and Stephens, while the production marks the professional stage debut of Zannie Benfield. Lown-Collins expressed enthusiasm about merging Shakespeare’s work with flamenco’s rhythm and humanity in the space of the Globe’s iconic Wooden ‘O’.

The creative team also comprises associate director Nell Bailey, co-composers Michael McMahon and Adrian Sola, designer Katie Lias, movement director and choreographer Carmen Igarza, and voice and text director Adam Wallis. Becky Paris heads the casting department.

This 2026 production is part of Shakespeare’s Globe’s season-long commitment to exploring the Bard’s plays through innovative performance methods and diverse cultural influences. The flamenco approach adds a fresh artistic dimension to the theatre’s ongoing reinvention of classical material.
