The Traitors – Acts of Betrayal set for West End world premiere in 2027
The Traitors – Acts of Betrayal, a stage adaptation of the popular TV format, will debut in London’s West End in May 2027, offering a unique cycle of five interconnected plays presenting multiple storylines within one theatrical experience.
The Traitors – Acts of Betrayal is scheduled to begin previews at the Gillian Lynne Theatre on 11 May 2027, with an official opening night on 8 June. Written by John Finnemore and directed by Robert Hastie, the production will explore the premise of The Traitors through a cycle of five new plays performed across weekdays.
Each weekday performance will start with the same scenario but then diverge into one of five separate narratives, allowing characters eliminated early in one version to progress or even triumph in another. The producers emphasise that each play stands as a complete story while also contributing to a larger, interconnected cycle.
Saturday shows introduce a further twist: audience participation determines which character becomes the Traitor, influencing the version of the story that unfolds. This means that matinee and evening performances on the same day could arrive at differing conclusions.
Stephen Lambert, chief executive of co-producer Studio Lambert, described the plays as “a game of paranoia and betrayal” that simultaneously explores “who we really are under pressure” and “the way our true colours show in the end.”
Caro Newling, co-founder of co-producer Neal Street Productions, highlighted the ambition of the project, calling it “an endeavour of extraordinary scale” that offers “a genuine box-set of entertainment from the heart of the Traitors universe.”
Tickets are currently on sale for this groundbreaking theatrical experiment, which promises a rarely seen storytelling format in the West End.
