A star-studded cast including Beatrice Penny-Touré and Jordan Donica will bring a reimagined Phantom of the Opera audiobook to life. Our Strange Duet, told from Christine Daaé’s perspective, will be released in September 2026.

The full cast has been announced for the audiobook edition of Our Strange Duet, written by Erin A. Craig. This production reinterprets Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera, focusing on the story through the eyes of Christine Daaé.

Beatrice Penny-Touré stars as Christine Daaé, with Jordan Donica cast as the Phantom and Jordan Fisher as Raoul. The ensemble also features Sierra Boggess as Carlotta Giudicelli, Katrina Lenk as Madame Giry, Norm Lewis as Ubaldo Piangi, Stephanie Styles as Meg Giry, Jesse Tyler Ferguson as Monsieur Firmin, and Dan Stevens as Monsieur André.

Produced by Julie Wilson and Kirby Crosbie, the audiobook will present a full cast performance with dramatised scenes, sound design, and musical elements drawn from Phantom of the Opera itself. The immersive audio experience aims to retell the classic tale from a fresh viewpoint.

Listening Library and LW Entertainment will release the audiobook on 1 September 2026. The production brings together notable West End and Broadway performers for a unique adaptation of the well-known musical.

This project reflects growing interest in expanding theatrical stories into audio formats, combining dramatic narration and music for listeners. The female-led retelling highlights new narrative angles within established theatrical works.
