Cats UK and Ireland tour reveals nearly full cast ahead of 2026 launch

The long-awaited touring production of Cats has unveiled almost the entire company set to bring Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical to theatres across the UK and Ireland from October 2026. The announcement follows the still-running Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre revival and promises a new creative journey for the beloved show.

Cats, staged by Michael Harrison for Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals, will open its UK and Ireland tour at Theatre Royal Plymouth on 6 October 2026. The production draws on the success of the record-breaking Regent’s Park revival, which Drew McOnie directed and choreographed and which continues in London until 19 September.

The touring cast includes Fin Adams as Alonzo, Kalisha Amaris as Old Deuteronomy, Elliot Broadfoot doubling as Bustopher Jones and Gus, and Millie O’Connell as Demeter. Other notable company members are Jaydon Vijn playing Rum Tum Tugger, Jack Wilcox as Munkustrap, and Diante Lodge in the role of Macavity.

Co-dance captains Carla Bertran and Taela Yeomans-Brown support the ensemble, which also features numerous offstage swings including Grace Burrows, Aaron Jenkins, and Dean Rickards. The production spans a wide range of characters, from Hannah Joseph’s Victoria to Patricia Zhou’s Cassandra.

Further casting for Grizabella, one of Cats’ iconic roles, is yet to be announced and slated for later this year. McOnie, who returns as director and choreographer, commented on the outstanding talents of the cast and their commitment to crafting “animalistic harmony under the Jellicle Moon.”

The creative team is led by set, costume, and wigs designer Sami Fendall and also includes lighting designer Jessica Hung Han Yun and sound designer Adam Fisher. Intimacy director Ingrid Mackinnon, fight director Kev McCurdy, and casting director Will Burton form part of the extensive behind-the-scenes team.

The tour will visit a broad array of venues, including Hull, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Belfast, Dublin, and Cardiff, and will run through to June 2027. The production promises to continue the celebrated legacy of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical interpretation of T. S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats.

With many performances scheduled nationwide, this new Cats tour aims to bring a fresh experience of a familiar classic to audiences across the UK and Ireland, sustaining the musical’s long-standing cultural presence.
