Million Dollar Quartet transfers to London’s Arts at Marble Arch this autumn
Million Dollar Quartet will transfer to London’s new Arts at Marble Arch venue this autumn after a successful run at the Barn Theatre in Cirencester. The production recounts the legendary 1956 meeting of Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley and others, promising a lively revival of the rock ’n’ roll jam session.
Million Dollar Quartet will begin its London run on 4 September 2026, continuing until 6 December at the Arts at Marble Arch: Powered by TodayTix. The show follows an extended engagement at the Barn Theatre in Cirencester, where it first played in 2022, and an impromptu postponement of Burlesque the Musical at the new venue cleared the way for its arrival.
The musical dramatizes the famous 4 December 1956 gathering of Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley at Sun Records in Memphis, capturing their spontaneous jam session. The score features iconic songs such as “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Fever,” “Walk the Line” and “Hound Dog.”
Originally premiered on Broadway in 2010, Million Dollar Quartet received three Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical. It transferred to London’s Noël Coward Theatre in 2011 and toured the UK extensively in 2016 and 2017 before returning to the Barn in 2022.
Directed by Jonathan O’Boyle, the musical’s book is by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux. Darren Day will reprise his role as Sam Phillips, the legendary record producer responsible for the famous session. Other casting details for the London run are pending announcement.
The creative team features Joanna Goodwin as choreographer, with Libby Watson on set and costume design, Alex Musgrave on lighting, Nick Lodge on sound, and musical supervision by Lee Freeman. This production is part of the Barn Theatre’s Built By Barn producing arm.
Iwan Lewis, CEO and artistic director of the Barn Theatre, praised the production’s success, saying it “has blown the roof off the Barn Theatre” and expressed excitement about bringing the show to London near Hyde Park. He highlighted the company’s effort in engaging audiences “of every generation.”
The transfer of Million Dollar Quartet continues the Barn Theatre’s recent momentum, following previous transfers of shows like I’m Sorry Prime Minister and I Can’t Quite Remember. A UK tour of The King’s Speech is slated to follow this latest London stint.
