Molly Rainford and Danny Walters lead new Pretty Woman UK tour cast
The casting for the upcoming UK tour of the musical Pretty Woman has been announced, featuring Molly Rainford in her stage debut as Vivian Ward alongside Danny Walters. The production revisits the late ’80s tale of unexpected love with an acclaimed creative team behind it.
The musical adaptation of Pretty Woman, based on the 1990s romantic comedy, will tour the UK with Molly Rainford portraying Vivian Ward for the first time on stage. Danny Walters takes on the role of Edward Lewis, with Bernadette Bangura as Kit De Luca. The show captures the unlikely romance of the original film, set in the late 1980s.
This iteration of Pretty Woman features music and lyrics by Grammy-winning Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance, while the book is by director Garry Marshall and screenwriter J F Lawton from the original movie. The production has previously been seen in Chicago, on Broadway, in the West End, and during a prior UK tour.
Extensive ensemble casting includes Selena Barron, Jabari Braham, Jack Campbell, Cletus Chan and many others. Additional casting details have yet to be confirmed.
The creative team comprises Jerry Mitchell, a two-time Tony Award winner, who serves as director and choreographer, with scenic design by David Rockwell. Costume design comes courtesy of Tom Rogers, based on original Broadway designs by Gregg Barnes.
Lighting design is shared between Kenneth Posner and Philip S Rosenberg, sound design by John Shivers, and hair design by Josh Marquette. Musical supervision, arrangements, and orchestrations are handled by Will Van Dyke.
101 Productions, Ltd and Kathy Kim are the global general management consultants for the production, while Dominic Shaw has recreated the direction for this touring version of the show.
