Amber Davies to Star in West End Transfer of Legally Blonde Musical

Amber Davies will reprise her role as Elle Woods in the West End transfer of Legally Blonde The Musical, following a sold-out UK and Ireland tour. The production will play a limited season at the London Coliseum in early 2027.

Amber Davies, who has previously won a WhatsOnStage Award for The Great Gatsby, will lead the cast as Elle Woods in Legally Blonde The Musical, which transfers to the London Coliseum from 22 March to 22 May 2027. Previews will run from 22 to 29 March before the official opening.

The musical follows the story of Elle Woods as she moves from California to Harvard Law School, initially aiming to win back her ex-boyfriend but ultimately discovering a new direction in her life. It is based on Amanda Brown’s novel and the 2001 film starring Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Coolidge.

Legally Blonde features music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin, with a book by Heather Hach. The production is directed by Curve artistic director Nikolai Foster and choreographed by Leah Hill. Matt Spencer-Smith serves as musical supervisor with additional arrangements.

The creative team also includes set designer Colin Richmond, costume designer Tom Rogers, wigs, hair and make-up designer Sam Cox, lighting designer Ben Cracknell, sound designer Adam Fisher, and casting directors Harry Blumenau and Jim Carnahan. The production is presented by ROYO and Curve theatre companies.

Special performances are planned to enhance accessibility, including an audio-described show on 20 April, a captioned performance on 5 May, and a signed performance on 11 May. An alternate performer will play Elle Woods at certain performances, with the casting to be announced.

This West End run follows a successful nationwide tour across the UK and Ireland, reflecting continued interest in musical adaptations of popular film properties staged at major venues like the London Coliseum.
