Bliss musical unveils full cast for Edinburgh Fringe world premiere

The new musical Bliss has announced its complete casting for the world premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe this summer. The show, touted as the biggest new musical at the Festival, tells the story of four sisters challenging traditional fairy tale notions.

Bliss will run at the Pleasance Courtyard from 5 to 31 August 2026, with daily 1pm performances and an 80-minute runtime. Presented by Susan Edelstein Productions, ATG Productions, and Gavin Kalin Productions, the musical is directed by Tony Award nominee Sheryl Kaller. The book, music, and lyrics are by Emma Lively and Tyler Beattie.

The story follows four sisters confined to a tower who venture into the outside world, testing ideas about fairy tales and happy endings. Leading the cast are Miriam Nyarko as Princess Faye, Matilda Shapland as Princess Holly, and Alexandra Emmerson-Kirby as Princess Carmella, the Minisculia princesses.

Joining them is Akshara Gunda, known for The Lunchbox Musical, as the youngest sister Princess Piper. Tom Bennett, who has appeared in Only Fools and Horses and House of the Dragon, takes the role of Glimmermore. May Tindall, a former cast member of Moulin Rouge!, joins as a swing.

Supporting roles include Cameron Johnson as King, Kara Lane as Taffeta, and Jordan Calloway as Prince Devin. The role of Jester will be shared by Ollie Augustin, Archie Durrant, and Will Twiste. Alicia Belgarde is cast as Perfect Princess and dance captain, accompanied by Maya De Faria, Ronalee Galhena, Millie Gubby, Ella McLaughlin, and Ella Valentine as additional Perfect Princesses.

The creative team is extensive, featuring choreographer Josh Prince, set designer Jason Ardizzone-West, and costume designer Paloma Young. Lighting design is by Jai Morjaria, sound design by Tony Gayle, and music supervision by Nick Finlow. Emma Lively, Tyler Beattie, and Steve Sidwell handle orchestration, with dramaturgy by Pippa Evans and casting by Heather Basten.

Bliss was previously workshopped at Sadler’s Wells in London in 2025, with Kayna Montecillo, Dujonna Gift, Sam Tutty, and Josefina Gabrielle in the cast. The Edinburgh Fringe premiere marks its first full staging to wider audiences.
