Carrie Hope Fletcher and Dan Partridge lead Waitress UK tour casting announced

The full cast for the UK tour of the musical Waitress has been confirmed, with Carrie Hope Fletcher starring as Jenna Hunterson and Dan Partridge as Dr Pomatter. The production, featuring music by Sara Bareilles, will journey across several UK cities next year.

The touring production of Waitress, based on the film by Adrienne Shelly, centres on Jenna Hunterson, a waitress and expert pie maker trapped in an unhappy marriage. When she enters a baking contest, Jenna finds an opportunity to rediscover herself, supported by her coworkers and an unexpected romance.

Carrie Hope Fletcher, a multi-WhatsOnStage Award winner, will take on the leading role of Jenna for a limited run. Evelyn Hoskins returns as Dawn, with Sandra Marvin reprising her role as Becky until 21 June. Les Dennis joins the cast as Joe, an addition highlighting the tour’s strong ensemble.

Dan Partridge will perform as Dr Pomatter, with Mark Anderson, Mark Wilshire and Dan O’Brien taking on the roles of Ogie, Earl and Cal respectively. The company also includes Will Arundell, Yochabel Asante, Alice Croft, Jamie Doncaster, Daniel George-Wright, Will Hardy, Bayley Hart, Olivia Lallo, Emma Lucia, David Mairs-McKenzie and Ellie Ruiz Rodriguez.

The tour will visit venues in Wimbledon, Brighton, Bradford, Woking, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Dublin, Manchester, Wolverhampton, Cardiff and Southend. Further casting announcements for the roles of Jenna and Becky are still to be revealed.

Waitress has enjoyed international success, with past runs on Broadway, the West End and previous tours reflecting its continuing popularity. This production brings a new UK audience the opportunity to experience the show’s blend of heartfelt storytelling and catchy music.

The creative team includes composer-lyricist Sara Bareilles and book writer Jessie Nelson, ensuring the production stays faithful to its origins while touring. The show’s exploration of resilience and self-liberation remains resonant for contemporary audiences.
