Cats revival confirms full UK tour dates following London run
The iconic musical Cats is returning for a limited London season before embarking on a major UK tour, with all venues now confirmed. Fans of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic can look forward to seeing the Jellicle Cats across the country later this year.
Cats, composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber and adapted from T S Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, will reopen in London for a brief run before hitting the road. The production follows the Jellicle Cats as they gather at the Jellicle Ball to choose one cat for ascension to the Heaviside Layer.
First premiered in London’s West End in 1981 and on Broadway in 1982, Cats became one of the longest-running musicals in both cities. Its enduring popularity led to a 2019 film adaptation, further cementing its cultural impact.
This revival is directed and choreographed by Drew McOnie and produced by Michael Harrison for Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals. The show’s large-scale UK tour will visit numerous theatres nationwide, with the full list of venues officially announced.
Alongside this UK activity, a separate production of Cats is reportedly preparing to open on Broadway, highlighting the continued interest in the musical internationally.
Tour dates have been released and are available to the public, providing multiple opportunities for audiences to experience this enduring musical theatre staple once more.
