Christmas Carol Goes Wrong unveils original cast for UK and US festive runs

Mischief has revealed casting details for Christmas Carol Goes Wrong’s 2026 performances across Manchester, Portsmouth and Los Angeles, featuring several returning members of the original UK company. The production’s touring schedule and international premieres underscore its continuing appeal.

Christmas Carol Goes Wrong will tour the UK, with performances at Manchester Opera House from 17 to 21 November 2026 and Portsmouth’s Kings Theatre from 24 to 28 November. The show will then make its North American debut at Los Angeles’ Ahmanson Theatre from 12 December 2026 to 10 January 2027.

Returning cast members include Matt Cavendish as Max, Allie Dart as Annie, Sasha Frost as Sandra, Henry Lewis as Robert, Chris Leask as Trevor, Jonathan Sayer as Dennis, Henry Shields as Chris, and Greg Tannahill as Jonathan. Dart and Shields join other original cast members already announced. Understudies Matthew Biddulph, Siobhan Cha Cha, Orla O’Sullivan and Josh Patel-Foster have also been named.

The Manchester and Portsmouth dates form part of the production’s second UK tour, which starts at Bromley on 27 October 2026 and continues through to 7 March 2027. Casting for other venues on the tour is to be confirmed. Additionally, the show will return to the West End with performances at Wyndham’s Theatre from 18 December 2026 to 23 January 2027, although casting for this season is yet to be announced.

The Los Angeles engagement represents the North American premiere of Christmas Carol Goes Wrong. Mischief returns to the Ahmanson Theatre following its previous production of Peter Pan Goes Wrong in 2023, marking a continued presence in the US market.

Christmas Carol Goes Wrong also plans an Australian run, with shows at HOTA on the Gold Coast from 4 to 12 December 2026, and the Sydney Opera House from 17 to 29 December. Casting details for these performances remain pending.

Written by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer and Henry Shields and directed by Matt DiCarlo, the show centres on the Cornley Amateur Dramatic Society’s chaotic efforts to stage Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. The creative team features set designer Libby Todd, costume designer Roberto Surace, lighting designer David Howe, and sound designer and composer Alexandra Faye Braithwaite.

Produced by Kenny Wax and Stage Presence in the UK, with additional production partners Kevin McCollum in the US and GMG Productions and Stoddart Entertainment Group in Australia, Christmas Carol Goes Wrong is presented globally through Mischief Worldwide Ltd. The production’s expansion across continents reflects the ongoing appetite for Mischief’s trademark theatrical mayhem.
