Jodie Prenger and Neil Hurst bring Frigid Jones’s Diary to The Other Palace this Christmas

Jodie Prenger and Neil Hurst will stage a new musical parody, Frigid Jones’s Diary: The Unauthorised Comedy Parody, at The Other Palace Studio from November 13 2026 to January 3 2027. The show joins the venue’s ongoing series of festive spoofs and offers a comic take on the classic rom-com Bridget Jones’s Diary.

Frigid Jones’s Diary follows its predecessors Homo Alone (2024) and Lovers Actually (2025) as part of The Other Palace’s Christmas spoof tradition. Set around the iconic film Bridget Jones’s Diary, the musical comedy features Frigid Jones navigating a familiar love triangle with live music and festive humour.

The production’s press night is scheduled for November 18, 2026. Prenger and Hurst, who co-wrote the show, have previously collaborated on Homo Alone, Lovers Actually, A Very Very Bad Cinderella, and Cinderella: A Socially Distanced Ball.

Prenger described the show as celebrating one of the most iconic romantic comedies, packed with recognisable elements such as love triangles, reindeer jumpers, blue soup, and vodka. She encouraged audiences “whether you’re a tragic spinster or a smug married” not to miss the parody this Christmas.

The creative team and casting details for Frigid Jones’s Diary are yet to be announced. The production will take place in The Other Palace Studio, continuing the theatre’s focus on holiday-themed comedy musicals.

This latest parody adds to a growing trend of festive theatrical spoofs revisiting beloved film and comedy genres with a tongue-in-cheek sensibility, offering audiences familiar stories through a satirical lens.
