Jordan Luke Gage and Rob Houchen join Phoenix Arts Club West End gala fundraiser

Jordan Luke Gage and Rob Houchen have been confirmed for the Phoenix Arts Club’s West End gala fundraiser at the Phoenix Theatre on 20 April 2026. The event aims to support one of central London’s last remaining independent performance venues amid financial challenges.

The Phoenix Arts Club’s upcoming gala fundraiser will take place at the Phoenix Theatre, bringing together a diverse line-up of cabaret artists, comedians, and West End performers. Jordan Luke Gage and Rob Houchen are among the confirmed participants, joining names such as Christina Bianco, musical comedy duo Flo and Joan, and comedian Clinton Baptiste.

Also involved are influencer Henry Calvert and WhatsOnStage Award-winning West End performer Jeevan Braich, all of whom have donated their time to support the urgent campaign. The event forms part of a £100,000 fundraising effort to secure the future of the Phoenix Arts Club, which operates as a Community Interest Company.

Profits from the gala will be reinvested into sustaining paid opportunities for performers and maintaining the venue’s programming. The evening will also feature a large ensemble of cabaret and variety performers drawn from the wider circuit, including Adam All, Ada Campe, Andromeda, Apple Derrieres, Bloody Bones, and others.

Regular fixtures at the Phoenix Arts Club such as Gotta Sing! and Sing Out, Louise! will be part of the gala, supported by musical direction from James Doughty. The event also receives backing from the Noël Coward Foundation.

Founded in 1988, the Phoenix Arts Club faces an uncertain future as increasing running costs and venue closures pressure the West End and Soho’s independent arts scenes. Creative Director Colin Savage emphasised that the fundraiser focuses on protecting paid work for artists and defending vital creative spaces in central London.

Savage warned that losing venues like the Phoenix Arts Club could threaten the infrastructure necessary for performers’ careers to develop and thrive. Further guest performers for the gala are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
