King’s Head Theatre unveils autumn 2026 season with London premiere of You & It
King’s Head Theatre has announced its full autumn 2026 season, featuring the London premiere of the acclaimed South Korean musical You & It alongside new productions and returning favourites. The season offers a mix of international collaboration and homegrown stories, emphasising the venue’s commitment to innovative storytelling.
The autumn programme opens with You & It, running from 20 August to 26 September, a South Korean musical by Seoeun O and QLee. Set in a near-future world where humans and artificial intelligence coexist, the story follows a grieving widower encountering an AI modelled on his late wife. The production has already seen runs in South Korea, Taiwan, and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Following this, The Gang of Three returns to the King’s Head from 1 to 11 October before embarking on a UK tour. Written by Robert Khan and Tom Salinsky and directed by Kirsty Patrick Ward, the play explores the intense political rivalry between Labour figures Roy Jenkins, Denis Healey, and Tony Crosland. The cast features Alan Cox, Hywel Morgan, and Colin Tierney.
From 15 October to 14 November, the theatre will present a double bill by Paul Bradshaw, comprising tell me straight and aggy. These productions follow their runs at the Park Theatre earlier in the year. tell me straight centres on one man’s struggle with patterns in his romantic life, while aggy interrogates themes of privilege, race, authorship, and performance. Bradshaw stars in tell me straight and co-directs aggy with Imogen Frances, who also directs the former.
The season also includes the previously announced pantomime of Dick Whittington, adding a traditional festive element to the programme. Zoe Weldon, King’s Head’s producer and programmer, highlighted the importance of the season in showcasing bold, topical work and championing artists who innovate in audience engagement.
Weldon noted the significance of the theatre’s first partnership with South Korean artists on You & It, as well as the return of Gang of Three, which had broken box office records during its previous run. She also reflected on the growth of tell me straight, which originally ran for only one week at the venue’s pub theatre.
This diverse autumn lineup at the King’s Head not only reflects the theatre’s rich artistic history but also its forward-looking approach to nurturing new voices and international collaborations.
