Oh, Mary! casts Cole Escola, Giles Terera, Michael Urie for summer Trafalgar run

The Olivier-winning comedy Oh, Mary! has announced its complete summer casting at London’s Trafalgar Theatre, with Cole Escola returning as Mary Todd Lincoln and Michael Urie joining the lineup. The production continues its West End run following significant Broadway and Off-Broadway success.

Oh, Mary!, the one-act comedy imagining Mary Todd Lincoln’s final weeks before Abraham Lincoln’s assassination, will feature Cole Escola reprising the role of Mary Todd Lincoln from 20 July to 15 August at the Trafalgar Theatre. Giles Terera returns as Mary’s Husband, and Emmy nominee Michael Urie joins as Mary’s Teacher for the filmed performances taking place later this month.

The filmed performances will also include original cast members Bianca Leigh as Mary’s Chaperone and Tony Macht as Mary’s Husband’s Assistant, with the latter two joined by Terera and Urie specifically for this recording. The production is currently booking at the Trafalgar Theatre until 2 January 2027.

From 3 to 15 August, the cast adjusts with Dino Fetscher as Mary’s Teacher, Kate O’Donnell as Mary’s Chaperone, and Oliver Stockley as Mary’s Husband’s Assistant joining Escola and Terera. From 17 August to 26 September, Jinkx Monsoon will take over as Mary Todd Lincoln, with Scott Karim replacing Terera as Mary’s Husband, while Fetscher, O’Donnell, and Stockley remain in their roles.

Mason Alexander Park, currently starring as Mary Todd Lincoln, will play their final performance on 18 July, with others including O’Donnell, Stockley, Fetscher, and Karim concluding their runs on 26 September. Casting details for performances from 28 September onwards are yet to be announced.

Written by Cole Escola and directed by Pinkleton, Oh, Mary! premiered Off-Broadway at the Lucille Lortel Theatre in January 2024 before transferring to Broadway’s Lyceum Theatre. The production made its West End debut in December 2025 and won Best Entertainment or Comedy Play at the 2026 Olivier Awards.

The creative team features set designer dots, costume designer Holly Pierson, lighting designer Cha See, and sound designers Daniel Kluger and Drew Levy. Other key collaborators include wig designer Leah J. Loukas, arranger David Dabbon, and casting director Stuart Burt. Associate creatives support the production across scenic, costume, lighting, sound, wigs, and music direction.

The announcement highlights Oh, Mary!’s continued presence in high-profile theatrical venues and its expanding creative collaborations as it maintains a substantial West End engagement.
