Paddington The Musical announces new cast for second year at Savoy Theatre

Paddington The Musical has revealed its new company for the forthcoming second year at London’s Savoy Theatre. The Olivier and WhatsOnStage award-winning production continues to bring Michael Bond’s beloved bear to the West End stage.

Paddington The Musical, which is based on Michael Bond’s A Bear Called Paddington and the Paddington film, will welcome its new cast on 28 October as it continues its run at the Savoy Theatre. The show features lyrics by Tom Fletcher, a book by Jessica Swale, and is directed by Luke Sheppard.

The production opened late last year to broadly positive reviews, including a five-star rating from WhatsOnStage, and has since won seven Olivier Awards and nine WhatsOnStage Awards. It is currently booking performances until 13 February 2028.

The new company includes Abbie Purvis and Hassan Taj alternating in the role of Paddington on stage, with Sonny Monaghan providing the voice and remote puppetry for young Paddington. The cast also features Cassidy Janson as Millicent Clyde, Marc Pickering as Mr Curry, and Samantha Bingley as Lady Sloane.

Several actors are reprising their roles, including Tarinn Callender as Grant, Teddy Kempner as Mr Gruber, and Haydn Oakley as Mr Brown. Other cast members include Sandra Marvin as Tanya, Charlotte Wakefield as Mrs Brown, and Linzi Hateley as Mrs Bird.

The ensemble consists of Esme Bacalla-Hayes, Sarah Benbelaid, Millie Gubby, Helen Gulston, Daisy Hanna, Jonathan Hermosa-Lopez, Jacqueline Hughes, Kellianna Jay and others. Poppy Houghton and Francesca Ratcliffe alternate as Judy Brown, while Eddison Burch and Shayne Maphosa alternate as Tony.

Producers Sonia Friedman and Eliza Lumley expressed their pleasure in announcing the new cast, highlighting the audience’s warm reception of the show and their confidence in the new company’s ability to continue creating magic on stage.

As Paddington The Musical enters its second year, this refreshed cast aims to maintain the production’s strong connection with West End audiences, securing the story of the much-loved bear firmly in the capital’s theatre scene.
