Suranne Jones and Tanya Reynolds join Tim Crouch’s An Oak Tree at the Other Palace
Further casting has been announced for Tim Crouch’s An Oak Tree, which returns to the Other Palace from 5 October to 15 November 2026, featuring a rotating guest cast performing without prior rehearsal. The addition of Suranne Jones, Tanya Reynolds, and Dónal Finn adds to an already diverse lineup shaping this unique theatrical event.
An Oak Tree, the innovative play by Tim Crouch, will be staged at the Other Palace in London from early October to mid-November 2026. The production features Crouch performing opposite a different guest actor at every performance, with each guest stepping on stage without having read or rehearsed the play beforehand.
The newly announced guest performers include Tanya Reynolds, slated for the evening of 24 October, Dónal Finn on 1 November, and Suranne Jones on the final night of the run, 15 November. These new names join a roster of previously announced actors such as Rosalie Craig, Olivia Williams, Rhashan Stone, and Juliet Stevenson, among others.
First performed in 2005, An Oak Tree has been staged in more than 19 countries to date. Over 350 performers have taken part in productions of this piece, underscoring its reputation as a highly adaptable and internationally recognised work.
The production is part of Francesca Moody Productions’ autumn season at the Other Palace, a collection of shows celebrating works that premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Alongside An Oak Tree, the season includes Garry Starr: Classic Penguins and the play Feeling Afraid As If Something Terrible Is Going to Happen, penned by Marcelo Dos Santos and starring Steven Webb.
This latest revival offers theatre audiences an experimental encounter with live performance, where unpredictability and actor spontaneity are at the core of the experience, reflecting the play’s enduring influence and innovative spirit within contemporary theatre.
