Patti LuPone to bring Matters of the Heart to London Coliseum in 2027
Three-time Tony winner Patti LuPone will return to London’s Coliseum theatre to perform her celebrated theatrical concert Matters of the Heart in February 2027. The production revisits LuPone’s acclaimed 1999 show, promising a mix of Broadway standards and contemporary songs.
Patti LuPone is set to perform Matters of the Heart at the London Coliseum on 14 and 15 February 2027. This engagement marks her return to the venue following her 2025 concert A Life in Notes.
First debuted at the Donmar Warehouse in 1999, Matters of the Heart moved to the West End before touring nationally and internationally. The show is based on LuPone’s 1999 recording of the same name, which was praised as one of the best albums of the year by The Times and Time Out in New York.
The concert delves into the “crimes, affairs and mysteries of the heart,” featuring more than two dozen songs that range from Broadway classics to works by contemporary songwriters.
The production is directed and conceived by Scott Wittman, with Joseph Thalken serving as musical director and arranger. The Four Play String Quartet also contributes to the performance’s live soundscape.
Matters of the Heart is presented by Darren Bell Productions and Cuffe & Taylor, with general management handled by QUBE Theatricals. Tickets for the show go on sale to the public on 4 September.
LuPone reflected on returning to the Coliseum, recalling previous performances and linking the Valentine’s Day date to the show’s themes. This engagement provides a rare opportunity to revisit one of her defining theatrical concerts.
The return of Matters of the Heart highlights continued interest in theatrical concerts as a form that blends storytelling and music on London’s stages.
