Tim Crouch’s An Oak Tree at The Other Palace reveals initial guest cast
Initial casting details have been announced for Tim Crouch’s An Oak Tree, which will run at The Other Palace from 5 October to 15 November 2026. The production features a unique format with a different guest actor performing alongside Crouch at every show.
An Oak Tree will be performed at The Other Palace over six weeks in autumn 2026, with Tim Crouch taking the stage each evening opposite a guest actor who arrives without prior rehearsal or reading. This format requires the guest actor to step into the performance blind, adding a distinctive and unpredictable dimension to each show.
The guest performers announced so far include Hammed Animashaun (29 October), Bessie Carter (16 October), Rosalie Craig (9 October), Sacha Dhawan (23 October), George Fouracres (10 November), Clare Perkins (13 October), Tom Mothersdale (14 October), and Gemma Whelan (15 October). Each will bring their own interpretation to the role alongside Crouch.
First performed in 2005, An Oak Tree has been presented in more than 19 countries worldwide. Over 350 actors have taken part in productions of the play, highlighting its enduring appeal and innovative structure.
This staging is part of Francesca Moody Productions’ season at The Other Palace, which celebrates plays that debuted at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. The season also includes Garry Starr: Classic Penguins (22 October 2026 to 3 January 2027) and Feeling Afraid As If Something Terrible Is Going to Happen, written by Marcelo Dos Santos, directed by Matthew Xia, and starring Steven Webb (19 November 2026 to 10 January 2027).
The Other Palace’s focus on pioneering fringe work continues to offer a platform for inventive theatrical forms, with An Oak Tree’s unconventional approach exemplifying this commitment.
