Wild About You musical to debut full London run at Charing Cross Theatre
Wild About You, the musical that began as concert performances at Theatre Royal Drury Lane, will have its first full production in London at the Charing Cross Theatre. The show features a refreshed story by Dani Stoller and Chilina Kennedy, promising a blend of romance, humour and heartfelt emotion.
Wild About You will open at the Charing Cross Theatre on 18 January 2027 and run until 10 April, with a national press night scheduled for 26 January. This marks the musical’s transition from concert form to a full theatrical staging.
The show’s narrative follows Billy on the day of his high school graduation party, during which he discovers a trunk of letters written by his late mother. The emotional and thematic depth of the piece aims to connect with audiences on multiple levels.
The book is by Dani Stoller, with music and lyrics by Chilina Kennedy. The creative team features director Kristin Hanggi, alongside Daniel Edmonds as music supervisor, director, orchestrator and arranger.
Produced by Brian Spector, who describes the show’s story as “freshly updated” and balancing “romance and cheeky humour” with a “deeply human and heartfelt” core, Wild About You is presented by Keaka Productions LLC and Charing Cross Productions in association with Eric McCormack, Michael Scott and Second Set LLC.
A recording of the musical is currently available to listen to, giving a preview of the score. Full casting and additional creative team members will be announced closer to the production dates.
This move reflects a growing trend in London theatre to develop musicals from concert presentations into full productions, allowing new works to refine their narratives and find wider audiences.
