Barn Theatre announces full 2026 season with Million Dollar Quartet return
The Barn Theatre in Cirencester has unveiled its complete Built by Barn season for 2026, featuring the return of the hit musical Million Dollar Quartet alongside a revival of The King’s Speech. The season promises a diverse programme that revisits popular titles and introduces major new productions.
Million Dollar Quartet will return to the Barn Theatre for a ten-week run from 15 June to 22 August, with a press night scheduled for 18 June. Directed by Jonathan O’Boyle, the show was first staged at the venue in 2022 and portrays the legendary 1950s jam session of Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley.
The musical is set in the recording studio where these iconic musicians’ lives intersected, showcasing their music and the vibrant energy of rock and roll’s early days. The Barn’s production promises to be “bigger, louder and more electrifying than ever,” according to CEO and artistic director Iwan Lewis.
Following this summer production, David Seidler’s The King’s Speech will be revived at the Barn Theatre from 9 October to 7 November, with a press night on 13 October. The play examines the fraught relationship between Bertie, the future King George VI, and his speech therapist Lionel Logue, against the looming threat of war in Europe.
The King’s Speech digs into Bertie’s personal struggles with his speech impediment as he prepares to lead the nation, drawing on the story made famous by the Oscar-winning film starring Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush. Full casting and creative details for both shows will be revealed in the coming months.
The Barn’s 2026 season will also include previous announcements of Men Behaving Badly, Honk!, Double Double, and Yes, Prime Minister, completing a varied build-up of theatrical offerings. Members will have access to tickets for all six shows on 4 March at a preferential rate, with general sale beginning on 6 March.
The Barn Theatre’s 2026 line-up balances musical drama, comedy, and historical narratives, reaffirming its mission to offer memorable live theatre experiences across genres. This full season reveals the venue’s commitment to revisiting past successes while introducing fresh interpretations of acclaimed works.
